Guadalupe G. Diaz II, 84, of Ft. Madison, IA, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026 at 11:10 AM at The Kensington.
He was born on September 5, 1941 in Brownsville, TX to Guadalupe and Eva Gonzalez Diaz. Lupe worked a career at Dial/ Pinnacle Foods in Ft. Madison and retired after forty-three years of service. Following retirement, he earned and received certification as a court translator from the University of Northern Iowa. On December 15, 1974 he married Isabel Castillo in Brownsville, TX and she passed away on April 20, 2013. He enjoyed dancing, reading, traveling, cooking and watching telemundos. Lupe was quite the socializer and enjoyed telling stories to everyone. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his children, Lupe Diaz IV of Des Moines, Norma (Jason) Martinez of Cedar Rapids, Lupe Diaz III of Brownsville, TX and Andres Diaz of Gardner City, KS; grandchildren, Tyler, Alyssa, Naomi and Nia Martinez of Cedar Rapids and one sister, Maria Consuelo Diaz of Naples, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one sister, Esperanza Diaz and one brother, Pablo Diaz.
Cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A private burial will take place in Oakland Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.kinglynk.com.
