Lady Hounds win fourth in a row

Fort Madison boys knock off Keokuk 12-2

FORT MADISON - Hadley Wolfe scored twice as Fort Madison’s girls soccer team defeated Macomb 6-1 on Friday night at the Baxter Sports Complex.
It was the fourth consecutive win for the Bloodhounds (7-1), who play host to No. 17 Burlington on Monday.
Brynlee Dixon opened the scoring with a goal at the 25:14 mark of the first half. Wolfe then scored back-to-back goals for a 3-0 lead.
Halle Menke, Emma Snaadt and Kara Lake had goals in the second half.
Menke had three assists, while Wolfe had two.
Ellie Hellman had five saves for the Bloodhounds.

Benda and Helmick lead FM at Deer Run
HAMILTON – Rowan Benda and Lucas Helmick both shot 90s at Deer Run Golf Course in Hamilton in a Keokuk-hosted Southeast Conference golf rotation Friday night.
The Bloodhounds earned a 4th-place finish behind Washington, Mt. Pleasant and Farifield with a 366. Keokuk was fifth with 368 points, just two behind the Hounds.
Ashton Snodgrass and Carter Land led the Chiefs with a 91 and 92 respectively.
Cole Quitten carded a 92 and Daniel Seager shot a 94 to round out the scoring golfers for Fort Madison. Colton Boyer was just outside the top four with a 97.

FM boys down Keokuk at Baxters
KEOKUK – The Fort Madison boys won 12-2 over Keokuk in boys Southeast Conference soccer action Thursday night.
The Bloodhounds move to 7-4-2 on the season and 5-2 in SEC play.
Six different Hounds scored in the win with Jonah Tackett leading the way with four goals. Daniel Jenkins, Jack Ragar and Tanner Williams had two goals apiece. Connor Horn and Joseph Lestina each scored as well.
Clay Smith had four assists to lead 12 other Hounds who all had assists in the win. Williams Scanlan and Jenkins shared time in the net with Scanlan getting one save.
Fort Madison travels to Bracewell Stadium to take on Burlington Monday night.

HTC girls 3rd at Sheaffer
FORT MADISON – Elizabeth Griffin shot a 52 to lead the Lady Crusaders in a triangular at Sheaffer Memorial Golf Course Thursday.
HTC finished 3rd with 238 points behind WACO (231) and Wapello (202).
Cali Kruse came in with a 55 while Evan Denning shot a 56 and Megan Holtkamp had a 75 to round out the scoring golfers for Holy Trinity. Sophomore Emmalin Marshall shot a 44 for medalist honors for Wapello.
In the boys meet, the Crusaders fell 172-185 to WACO. Max Kruse shot a 42 for third best nine-holes of the meet. WACO’s Malachi Rinner was medalist with a 40. Jameson Denning came in with a 47 for HTC, while Zane Houtz and Caleb Rea each shot 48s for the scoring golfers for HTC.
