Marcella M. Honadel, 85, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 4:05 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at Birkwood Village in Fort Madison. She was born on April 6, 1941 in Fort Madison, IA to Mark & Anna Marie Bohnenkamp Mason. She married Jerry D. Honadel on September 19, 1964 in Fort Madison, IA. He preceded her in death on September 18, 2000. She was a teacher’s aide for the Fort Madison Community School District and was a member of Holy Family Parish and the Altar & Rosary Society. She loved to talk on the phone and spend time with her family.
Marcella is survived by: 1-son: Brent (Elizabeth) Honadel of Thornton, CO; 2-grandchildren: Katherine & John Honadel of Thornton, CO; 1-brother: Frank (Trish) Mason of Fort Madison, IA; 4-sisters: Floradean Schier of Fort Madison, IA, Norma Muerhoff of Grand Blank, MI, Mary Ann (Gene) Mueller of Aurora, CO & Betty (Ron Schuster) Albers of Indianola, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband & 2-brothers: Robert & James Mason.
A visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2026 at Sacred Heart Church. The funeral mass will immediately follow at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Gary Beckman officiating. Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery. A memorial has been established for Holy Family Parish.
