FORT MADISON – Young entrepreneurs will once again have the opportunity to showcase their creativity and business skills at the Depot Complex Farmers Market's popular Kidpreneur Market, with three dates official dates for the 2026 season.
This year's Kidpreneur Market dates are: June 29, July 20, August 17, September 14 (for children who wish to continue participating during the school year).
The Kidpreneur Market was originally designed by the Fort Madison Chamber of Commerce to encourage children to explore entrepreneurship by creating and selling their own handmade crafts, baked goods, treats, artwork, and other unique items in a fun and supportive environment.
"We are excited to continue this program in 2026 after taking over the market," said Chi Eastin, Fort Madison Tourism Director and North Lee County Historical Society President. "The Kidpreneur Market gives children an opportunity to share their creativity with the community."
The cost to participate is just $1 per booth. Young vendors are asked to bring their own table, chairs, displays, and any materials needed for their setup.
The Farmers Market operates from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with vendor setup available beginning at 3:00 p.m.
Participating children will also receive special recognition through the market's advertising efforts. Families are encouraged to let organizers know what their child plans to sell so that each young entrepreneur can be highlighted and promoted before the event.
The Fort Madison Farmers Market invites the entire community to come support these budding business owners while enjoying fresh produce, local products, handmade goods, and family-friendly activities along with our other vendors and food trucks.
Parents interested in registering their child for the Kidpreneur Market are encouraged to contact the Fort Madison Tourism office.
