ROSE
Ruth Ann Rose, 89 of Keokuk, IA passed away Friday, November 29, 2024 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
Ruth was born to Leon and Bertha Hilberer Tieman on June 3, 1935 in Keokuk, IA.
On April 13, 1952, Ruth was united in marriage to Joseph A. Rose of Keokuk with whom she shared 72 wonderful years of marriage.
Her greatest joy in life were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She and Joe would take them on camping trips until the kids outgrew wanting to go. They also would host fish fries and ice-skating parties around their pond with her large family. Many memories were made around that pond with siblings, nieces and nephews. In her younger years you could find Ruth at a bingo hall or playing the slots.
Ruth is survived by her sons, James (Danny) Rose and Daniel (Debbie) Rose of Keokuk, grandchildren, Jacy(Corey) Martin and Jamie (Tim) Bernhardt both of Keokuk and Amanda Rose of North Liberty, IA, great-grandchildren Dyrien Bolen, Connor and Madelyn Bernhardt of Keokuk, Hayden and Madden Meek of North Liberty, IA and Maggie and Jaycie Martin of Keokuk. She is also survived by her brother, William “Bill” (Sue) Tiemann of Kerrville, TX and sister, Theresa (Buck) Cameron of Hamilton, IL, and her brother-in-law, Duane Cloud of Jacksonville, FL and a large contingency of nieces and nephews who have fond memories of the times at the house on Johnson Street Road.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Rose, parents, Leon and Bertha Tiemann, brothers, Bud, Richard “Dick” and Tom Tiemann, and her sisters, Charlotte Betts, Shirley Glover and Carrie Cloud.
There will be no services at this time.
The Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk is assisting the family with arrangements.
