Alberta Jean Piersee, 84, of Keokuk, IA passed peacefully at her home on Sunday, March 5, 2023 surrounded by her family.
She was born September 18, 1938 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of John and Georgia Minyard Atterberg.
On August 6, 1955 Alberta was united in marriage to Lester Piersee. They were married fifty-one years. He preceded her in death on May 21, 2007.
Alberta worked side-by-side Lester as they ran their Kirby Vacuum business for thirty-five years.
Her love and devotion for her family was above all else. The grandkids all have such fond memories of having Nerf gun battles with Grandma, having garage sales and getting to keep the money, telling ghost stories and teaching them to cheat at Poker. All of the holidays were extra special, being thought out and planned so well. One of her favorite things was gardening and took special pride in her yard. She truly loved dogs and had many wonderful ones through the years. She was always taking in strays and finding them a good home.
Alberta is survived by her children, Debbie (Mike) Haney, Howard (Mary) Piersee, Blain (Jori) Piersee and Angie (Scott) Vaughn, ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and longtime friend, Kenny Miller.
In addition to her husband, Lester, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Carolyn (John) Kite.

A graveside service will be held at a later date.
The Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA is assisting the family with arrangements.
