Donna DeLozier, 89, of Hamilton, IL, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2024 at her caregiver’s home, in Hamilton.
She was born July 11, 1934 in Colusa, IL the daughter of Dorren and Julia Walton Scanlan. Donna graduated from Colusa High School with the class of 1952.
On November 14, 1954 Donna was united in marriage to George DeLozier in Colusa. He preceded her in death on December 11, 2011.
Donna and her husband owned and operated DeLozier Electric in Hamilton, IL.
Donna was a member of United Methodist Church of Hamilton, Deer Run Ladies League and the Red Hat Society. Donna and George were honored as the 2001-2002 Hamilton High School Athletic Boosters of the Year.
Donna and George enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, including Alaska, and Europe, and spending winters in Arizona since 1976. They enjoyed watching their grandchildren’s sporting events and followed their games across the United States.
Donna also enjoyed playing cards and competing in many golf tournaments with George.
She is survived by two daughters, Becky Summers (Doug) of Hamilton, IL and Bonnie Sammons (Tim) of Mt. Pleasant, IA, five grandchildren, Zach Summers (Randi), Ben Summers (Kelsey), Kendall Summers (Carley), Angie Farnsworth (Joel) and Brad Sammons (Erin) and eight great-grandchildren, Blake Summers, Harrison Summers, Addison Summers, Ellison Summers, Abby Farnsworth, Joel Farnsworth and Ellie Sammons and Sammie Sammons. She is also survived by one sister, Norma Neill of West Point, IL, two step-sisters, Judy Smith and Donna Cook, one step-brother, Dan Cook, one step-sister-in-law, Jean Cook and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Mahlon, in infancy, her step-mother, Velma Scanlan, step-sister, Barb Bonner and step-brother, Lanny Cook.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday April 27, 2024 at the United Methodist Church of Hamilton in Hamilton, IL with Pastor Mark Hanson officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton.
Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9-11 a.m., Saturday, at the church with family meeting with friends at that time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church or Deer Run Golf Course.
