Wanda Jean Siegrist, 97, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 8:55 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at The Kensington in Fort Madison. She was born on February 8, 1928 in Fort Madison, IA to Kent & Helen Houston Crabtree. She married Walter Lee Siegrist on January 11, 1947 in Denmark, IA. He preceded her in death on September 4, 2004. She retired from the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant. She graduated from Denmark Academy and attended Grinnell College. She was a lifetime member of the Denmark Congregational United Church of Christ and enjoyed cooking, gardening, quilting, was a great homemaker and one hell of a card player.
Wanda is survived by: 1-daughter: Patricia (Daryl) Ealy of Fort Madison, IA; 2-sons: Neil (Dale) Siegrist of Longmont, CO & Mark (Laurie) Siegrist of Longmont, CO; 6-grandchildren & 9-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents, 1-daughter: Dana Pechin & 1-brother: Clair Crabtree.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A celebration of life will be held at a later date at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A private family burial will be held following the service at Fairview Cemetery in rural Fort Madison. A memorial has been established in Wanda’s memory and memorials may be left during the celebration of life.
