Wolfe named 2nd team all-state

FORT MADISON - Fort Madison’s Hadley Wolfe added two awards to her list of postseason honors on Monday.
Wolfe was named a Class 2A second-team all-state selection by the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association, along with being named to the 2A Southeast all-district team by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association.
Wolfe, a senior who was a 100-goal scorer in her career as a four-year varsity player with the Bloodhounds, was one of the state’s top goal scorers this season with 44, leading all of Class 2A and ranked sixth among all classes. Her 102 points for points and assists also led all of Class 2A and was fifth among all classes.

Wolfe was named the Southeast Conference’s player of the year after helping lead the Bloodhounds to a second-place finish in the conference and a berth in the 2A regional finals.
Among players in southeast Iowa conferences on the all-state teams, Burlington’s Lily Newell and Brooklyn Sparrow were honorable-mention selections in Class 2A. Mediapolis’ Amelia Grier was a second-team selection in Class 1A, while teammates Ellah Wagenbach and Camryn Bailey were named to the honorable-mention list along with Notre Dame-West Burlington’s Daisy Hazell.
Wolfe was joined by Burlington’s Daphne Brown on the IGCA all-district list. Hazell, Bailey and Notre Dame-West Burlington’s Avery Jeffries were Southeast all-district selections in Class 1A.
