Schmitz Funeral Homes – Betty Elaine Clemenson, 86, Farmington

IN REMEMBRANCE OF THOSE WE LOVE

Betty Elaine Clemenson, 86, formerly of Farmington, Iowa, resident of Keosauqua Health Care Center, went home to be with her Lord at 9:12 p.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Born March 28, 1931 in St. Paul, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Harvey Ray and Lillian Cowan McVeigh. She married Raymond Walter Clemenson in Primrose, Iowa, on August 11, 1950.

Survivors include five sons: Gary (Norita) Clemenson, Farmington; John Scott (Carol) Clemenson, Westcliffe, Colorado; Dennis (Diana) Clemenson, Smith Center, Kansas; Kevin (Wanda) Clemenson, Keosauqua; James (Lisa) Clemenson, Everett, Washington; one daughter: Susan (Keith) Hemmings, Farmington; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one granddaughter, one great grandson, two brothers and one sister.

CLEMENSON

Betty graduated from Montrose High School in 1948.She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and supporting her beloved St. Louis Cardinals. She was an avid reader. Above all, Betty loved being a wife, mother and grandmother. Betty was a true example of a Christian. Most important to her was “to someday meet all of my family in Heaven”. She was a member of the Bonaparte Baptist Church.

Friends May Call from 2:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the Schmitz Funeral Home in Farmington. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 A.M Friday August 11, 2017 at the Bonaparte Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 11, 2017 at the Bonaparte Baptist Church, with Pastor Mark Caston officiating. Burial will be in Greenglade Cemetery in Farmington. The memorials will go to the Farmington Food Pantry and the Bonaparte Baptist Church.
