Helga Kent, 78, of Montrose passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 6:11 AM at her home.

She was born on February 27, 1940 in Gedern Germany to Adolph and Anna Behr. On August 18, 1961 she married Frederick W. Kent Jr. in Budingen, Germany and he passed away on January 31, 2012. Helga worked at Sheaffer Pen Co. for seventeen years and then became the Director of Housekeeping at the Ft. Madison Care Center.She enjoyed gardening, feeding the birds and squirrels. Helga also enjoyed listening to her German music. Her greatest love was her family and taking care of them.

Survivors include six children, Connie (Tom) Dunroe of Kenduskeag, ME, Karina Kent of Montrose, James (Tammy) Kent of Ft. Madison, Thomas (Elizabeth) Kent of Pass Christian, Mississipi, Kevin (Robin) Kent of Montrose, Tish (Veronica Forrett) Petry of Ft. Madison; fifteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Letticia (Tom) Hauck of Ft. Madison and special friends, Evelyn and Harold Husted of Montrose. She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband, three brothers and two sisters.

Per her wishes, cremation was been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. There will be a private graveside service held in Soldier’s Circle, Oakland Cemetery.
