FORT MADISON - Junior goalkeeper Javier Trejo had 16 saves in a 5-1 Bloodhound loss to Mt. Pleasant Friday night.
The Hounds held the Panthers to a 1-0 lead with the only goal coming from the Panthers at the 24-minute mark in the first half.
But the Panthers jumped on the Hounds with just 1:24 gone in the second half to take a 2-0 lead. The scoring went quiet until the 28-minute mark when Mt. Pleasant made it 3-0, but Austin Sexton answered on an assist by AJ Nolting at 29:30 to cut the lead to two at 3-1.
Mt. Pleasant answered just a minute later and then scored again at 35:30 to set the final score 5-1.
The Hounds drop to 3-7 overall and 2-4 in the conference and plays host to Washington on Monday.
In the junior varsity match, Mt. Pleasant downed FMHS 2-0 scoring both goals in the first half. Chance Decker had five saves for Fort Madison.
