HTC junior high girls split with Cardinal, WB

FORT MADISON - HTC's junior high softball team split a pair of games on June 1st, with Cardinal in West Point.
In the first game, the Crusaders won 13-9. Paige Wasielewski went 2-for-2, Natalie Randolph, Laura Mehmert, Jenna DiPrimia, Kelli Meierotto, Kayla Box, Raquel Schneider, Brooke Mueller, and Mary Hellige all had hits for HTC. Anna Sobczak was the winning pitcher.
In the second game of the matchup HTC lost 16-1. Wasielewski again had two hits to lead Holy Trinity. Hellige, Mueller and Sobczak each had a hit. Hellige took the loss.
On Tuesday, the Crusaders split again at West Burlington.
The Lady Falcons tagged HTC for 13-1 loss in the first game with Breanna Peterson, Schneider, Mueller and Hellige getting the hits for HTC. Rachel Menke was the losing pitcher.
In game two, HTC shutout WB. Wasielewski went 3-for 4 at the plate. Box and Mueller each were 2 for 4. Schneider, Hellige, Mehmert and Menke all had a hit each. Hellige through the shutout and had six strikeouts.
HTC is 8-4 on the year and played at Van Buren Thursday night.
