FMCH to sponsor CPR/AED course

FORT MADISON - Fort Madison Community Hospital (FMCH) Education Department is offering the American Heartsaver CPR/AED Course on Thursday, October 25, 2018. The class will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the FMCH Business Center Conference Rooms.

There is a $50 charge for the class, which includes a provider card. Class size is limited and reservations are required. You can reserve your spot by calling 319-376-2223.

Heartsaver courses are designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for their job or other requirements. These courses are also valuable for anyone wanting to be prepared for an emergency in any setting. CPR- or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation- is an emergency lifesaving procedure performed when the heart stops beating. Immediate CPR can double or triple chances of survival after cardiac arrest. You will also learn how to properly use an AED, Automatic External Defibrillators. An AED is a portable automatic device used to restore normal heart rhythm to someone experiencing a cardiac episode.
