Amandus jailed on OWI charges

Fort Madison 3rd ward councilwoman arrested in Keokuk Saturday

KEOKUK – Fort Madison City Councilwoman Donna Amandus was jailed Saturday night and charged with OWI.
Amandus was stopped and arrested by the Lee County Sheriff’s deputy after leaving the Keokuk Yacht Club about 11:30 p.m.
According to the Lee County Jail, Amandus had not been released as of Sunday morning. The jail is awaiting an initial response from a district judge before issuing her release.
Amandus represents Fort Madison’s 3rd Ward and is up for re-election in November.
Amandus has also run for state representative, Fort Madison Mayor, and Lee County Board of Supervisors.
