LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Board candidate thanks community for support

Posted

While I was not selected to fill the open seat on the Fort Madison Community School District Board, I want to express my heartfelt thanks to those who offered support, encouragement, and belief in my candidacy. This community—and especially the students and families it holds—have always been at the center of my work. That hasn’t changed. In fact, this experience has only deepened my commitment to Fort Madison schools and the mission we share: to ensure all students gain the academic and life skills they need for personal success and responsible living.
I remain as passionate and involved as ever. You’ll still find me volunteering, advocating, and working behind the scenes to build systems and support that reflect our shared values. I believe strongly that everything we do today shapes what’s possible for the next generation—and I’m not stepping away from that responsibility.
To those who stepped into the role: I offer my congratulations and full support to Heather Huebner. I know how vital this work is, and I wish you strength and clarity as you serve our district.

Whether as a teacher, a neighbor, a parent, or simply someone who believes in the power of public education—
I’ll keep showing up. For our kids. For our educators. For our future.
With gratitude,
