Dear Editor:
As November 3rd approaches, I want to take a moment to say thank you. Thank you for the opportunity to serve, for the conversations at your doors, and for allowing me to listen to your concerns and work on the issues that matter to you and your families.
Public service should be about more than promises. It should be about results.
I’m proud of the work we’ve supported to reform property taxes, attract a $15 billion industry to Iowa and create good-paying jobs, support small businesses, and fund cancer research. We’ve worked to hold violent offenders accountable, strengthen animal cruelty laws, and voted to protect property owners from eminent domain for private gain.
We’ve also worked to protect and empower teachers in the classroom, expand rural health care funding, invest in reducing nitrate levels in Iowa’s drinking water, promote healthier food choices, and increase radon testing to reduce cancer risks. I’ve also stood for policies concerning girls’ locker rooms and sports, reflecting my commitment to protecting girls’ privacy and opportunities.
These issues may be different, but they share something important: they affect real people, real families, and the future of our communities.
