FM resident says Mohrfeld best choice for District 100

Editor:
I have known Matt Mohrfeld for several years and served with him on the Marina Project Committee. Because of his knowledge, experience, and accountability, I feel Matt is the best person to represent us in Des Moines.
Anyone who knows Matt or has spent any time with him knows that he is very knowledgeable on a wide range of topics.  That knowledge was attained through many years of different experiences.
Those experiences include owning and operating a successful local business and everything that entails, serving on the Lee County Board of Supervisors, coaching in our local high school, and serving as mayor of Fort Madison. Through these experiences, Matt has a working understanding of city, county, and state governments as well as the difficulties of business ownership.  He can "hit the ground running" on his first day in the legislature.

I feel the most important duties of a representative are to do just that---represent his/her constituents and be accountable to them. A few years ago, after being elected to represent Southeast Iowa, a legislator stated that they felt that they represented the entire state of Iowa, not just southeast Iowa and on occasion, voted that way.  Matt will not be that kind of representative.  He will doggedly fight for us.
Because of his knowledge, experience, and accountability, I believe Matt Mohrfeld is the best person to represent us, and I urge you to vote for him.
