LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Reader says Dems are typical politicians

Twenty years ago, I had my second heart attack. I was treated at the local hospital then transferred to Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.  My family and I repeatedly told hospital personnel that I was covered by the V.A.   After four days of hospitalization, I was released and a month later, received a bill from Mercy Hospital for $47,000.00! The hospital stated that the V.A. refused to pay because I didn’t follow proper procedure. As a Purple Heart recipient, my medical bills are to be covered by the V.A.
At my family’s insistence, I sent my grievance to the standing Democratic Senator with the belief that it would be handled properly.  Shortly after, I received a response from him stating that there isn’t anything he could do, due to the V. A guidelines.

I then sent the same letter to Senator Grassley’s office. Within a week I received a signed letter from Senator Grassley, stating that he asked the V.A. to take another look at my case. After reviewing they decided to pay the total amount of $47,000.00.  Senator Grassley took the time and effort to help, showing not only what a great Statesman he is, but how he supports the American people.
This is what true representation means, no personal agendas involved. Matt Morhfeld and Chris Greenwald, in my opinion, exhibit a pattern of using their elected positions to advance their personal agendas. Please keep this in mind and vote for Tom Schulz and Blaine Watkins.
