Eloise L. McWaters, 92, of Keokuk, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at River Hills Village in Keokuk, Iowa.
Eloise was born on December 16, 1931, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of William Theodore and Lorene Winfred (Riter) Foster. In 1956, she was united in marriage to James George McWaters in Keokuk, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1979.
Eloise was employed as a nurse, but her favorite job was raising her children. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Keokuk and enjoyed traveling in the world, visiting England, Scotland, Spain and France. She loved Paris, visiting four times. Some of her hobbies included reading, making candles, crafting (especially with driftwood), quilting, needlepoint, jigsaw puzzles, adult coloring books and doing the crossword every day.
Eloise is survived by two children: Scott Alan McWaters of Greenville, South Carolina, and Lorene Auralia McWater of Eden Praire, Minnesota; four grandchildren: Sonja McPherson of Eden Praire, Minnesota, Elspeth Hope McWaters of Athens, Georgia, Ainsley Grace McWaters of Greenwood, South Carolina, and Kirstin Joy McWaters of Simpsonville, South Carolina; four grandchildren; three brothers: William “Ted” (Dorothy) Foster of Big Lake, Wisconsin, Lewallen “Lew” (Beverly) Foster of Keokuk; and Milton (Linda) Foster of Muscatine, Iowa; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Eloise is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Joan Hinrichs.
No services will be held at this time.
