Final City Band Concert tonight in Central Park

FORT MADISON - The Ft. Madison City Band Concert will give their final concert on Sunday, July 10th at 7:30pm in Central Park.  In case of inclement weather, the concert will be held at the Ft. Madison United Methodist Church on the corner of 9th Street and Avenue E. 
The sponsors for the July 10th concert are: Joan Weiser, Raymond and Carla Pilkington, Richard and Linda Larkin and the FMHS Class of 1991. 
The Nauvoo Bagpipers, under the direction of Chris Balling, will give a concert at Central Park on Sunday, July 24th at 6:30m.
The Ft Madison City Band concert will be directed by Lisa Knipe and will feature the following selections: On The Square March, Exaltation Overture, Old Tent Meeting featuring a medley of Gospel Hymns, Cotton-Eyed Joe, Basin Street Blues, The Bare Necessities from The Jungle Book, That's Entertainment, Karen Carpenter's Rainy Days and Mondays and Washington Post March.  Taylor Stoddard, the Ft. Madison High School Choral Director will sing Josh Groban's hit, You Raise Me Up with the band. 
The young and young at heart can participate in blowing bubbles as the Band bids farewell with Lawrence Welk's "Good Night" song to complete the 2022 City Band season.
