Fort Madison Police Report
05/05/23 – 8:55 p.m. – Fort Madison police responded to a report of a burglary in the 2800 block of Avenue J.
05/06/23 – 3:58 p.m. – Fort Madison police responded to a report of larceny/theft in the 800 block of Avenue G.
05/06/23 – 9:35 p.m. – Fort Madison police cited Kaiden Lee Nimrick, 18, no hometown listed, in the 2400 block of Avenue L, on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
05/07/23 – 2:46 p.m. – Fort Madison police responded to a report of vandalism in the 1300 block of Avenue E.
05/07/23 – 5:43 p.m. – Fort Madison police cited Justin Robert Bowden, 41, no hometown listed, in the 4800 block of Avenue O, on a charge of driving while barred.
05/07/23 – 10:33 p.m. – Fort Madison police arrested William Paul Cochenour II, 30, no hometown listed, at the intersection of 48th Street and Avenue L, on a warrant for probation violation. He was taken to Lee County Jail.

Lee County Sheriff Report
05/05/23 – 10:58 a.m. – Lee County sheriff deputies arrested Connen Craig Hahnbaum, 34, listed as homeless living in Fort Madison, at the North Lee County Jail, on a warrant for violation of probation. He was taken to Lee County Jail and later released on bond.
05/05/23 – 11:16 a.m. – Lee County sheriff deputies arrested Jenny Lynne Leis Rook, 36, of Keokuk, at the sheriff's department, on a judgment hold warrant. She was taken to Lee County Jail and later released after weekend service.
05/05/23 – 12:26 p.m. – Lee County sheriff deputies responded to a report of a single-vehicle accident at the intersection of Hwy. 2 East and Bluff Road. According to the report, a vehicle driven by Hunter Dean Shriver, 22, of Bonaparte, was traveling westbound on Hwy. 2 near Bluff Road, when the driver tried to avoid a collision with another vehicle turning onto Bluff Road, entered the shoulder, slid sideways into a ditch, rolled over, and struck a utility pole, causing the lines to crash onto the vehicle. Shriver was transported by Lee County EMS to Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries. Shriver was cited for failure to maintain control. Shriver's vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
05/05/23 – 12:27 p.m. – Lee County sheriff deputies responded to a report of a single-vehicle accident at the intersection of Hwy. 2 East and Bluff Road. According to the report, a vehicle driven by John David Hill, 64, of Wever, was traveling eastbound on Hwy. 2 near Bluff Road when it struck a low-hanging electrical line from a previous accident. No injuries or citations were reported. Hill's vehicle sustained minor damages, but was driven from the scene.
05/05/23 – 4:13 p.m. – Lee County sheriff deputies arrested Trenton Lee Hauk, 26, of Kahoka, at the South Lee County Courthouse, on a warrant for 3rd degree theft greater than $750 and less than $1,500. He was taken to Lee County Jail and later released on his own recognizance.
05/06/23 – 4:25 p.m. – Lee County sheriff deputies responded to a report of two-vehicle accident in the 2600 block of Hwy. 27. According to the report, a vehicle driven by Phineas H. Eicher, 41, of Montrose, was traveling southbound on Hwy. 27 when a bale of hay fell off his trailer and struck the passenger side of a vehicle driven by Dennis A. Hornbostel, 39, of Illinois. No injuries were reported. Eicher was cited for spilling load on highway. Hornbostel's vehicle sustained minor damages. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.
05/07/23 – 3:33 p.m. – Lee County sheriff deputies arrested Raul Puente Garcia, 73, of Fort Madison, at the North Lee County Courthouse, on a judgment hold warrant. He was taken to Lee County Jail.
