Fort Madison Police Report
10/18/23 – 11:28 a.m. – Fort Madison Police responded to a report of a larceny/theft in the 1600 block of Avenue I.
10/18/23 – 11:47 a.m. – Fort Madison Police responded to a report of a hit and run in the 2600 block of Avenue H.
10/18/23 – 12:42 p.m. – Fort Madison Police responded to a report of a hit and run in the 1500 block of Avenue B.
10/18/23 – 2:08 p.m. – Fort Madison Police responded to a report of a property damage accident in the 3400 block of Avenue Q.
10/18/23 – 2:31 p.m. – Fort Madison Police arrested David Wayne Hand, 56, of Fort Madison in the 3000 block of Avenue N, on an active warrant and a charge of possession of a controlled substance. He was taken to Lee County Jail and held.
10/18/23 – 3:17 p.m. – Fort Madison Police arrested Anthony James Greeson, 19, of Fort Madison in the 1700 block of Avenue L on a charge of domestic assault abuse. He was taken to Lee County Jail and held.
10/18/23 – 10:59 p.m. – Fort Madison Police responded to a report of a larceny/theft in the 600 block of 2nd Street.
10/19/23 – 1:17 a.m. – Fort Madison Police responded to a report of a burglary in the 600 block of 2nd Street.

Keokuk Police Report
10/18/23 – 10:38 a.m. – Keokuk Police arrested a 13-year-old female juvenile in the 2000 block of Orleans Street on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. She was released to a parent.
10/18/23 – 9:52 p.m. – Keokuk Police cited Carla Renee Waetzig, 48, of Keokuk in the 700 block of Exchange on a charge of driving under suspension.
10/18/23 – 11:58 p.m. – Keokuk Police arrested Charles Heston Smith, Jr., 43, of Keokuk in the 1300 block of Main Street on a warrant for violation of a no-contract order. He was taken to Lee County Jail and held.

Lee County Sheriff’s Report
10/18/23 – 2:11 p.m. – Lee County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident in the 3400 block of Avenue Q. According to the report, a vehicle driven by Manuel Frank Salazar, 77, of Fort Madison was headed eastbound on Avenue Q when he noticed a fried and stopped in the roadway to back up. When he backed up he struck a Fort Madison Police cruiser driven by Carsen Scott Kuesel, 31, of Fort Madison. Salazar was cited for unsafe backing. No injuries were reported in the incident.
10/19/23 – 12:53 a.m. – Lee County sheriff’s deputies arrested Charles Heston Smith, Jr., 43, of Keokuk in the 1300 block of Main Street, on a judgment hold and violation of a no contact order. He was taken to Lee County Jail and held.
