I am writing to express my full support for Melinda Blind in her candidacy for Mayor of Fort Madison. I have had the privilege of knowing and working alongside Melinda since 2006, when I was elected to City Council and later serving as Mayor. As City Clerk, I witnessed her consistently demonstrate exceptional professionalism, integrity, and dedication to public service.
Throughout our years of collaboration, Melinda was transparent and thoughtful in her communications, trustworthy in her conduct, and reliably effective in her responsibilities. Her deep understanding of our city’s municipal operations, combined with her steady leadership and commitment to our community, make her uniquely qualified to serve as Mayor.
Melinda believes in cultivating strong, respectful working relationships. Her interactions with the public, council members, and city staff as well as officials in state government show that she has what it takes to serve Fort Madison well in navigating challenges and advancing opportunities.

I have no doubt that Melinda possesses the skillset, experience, and vision necessary to lead our city with distinction. Her proven track record of service and her unwavering commitment to ethical and transparent governance are exactly what our community needs in its next leader.
