Norene Mae Eid, 83, of Fort Madison, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2023 at 10:14 PM at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in Ft. Madison.
She was born on January 18, 1940 in Ft. Madison to Walter Leo and Bertha Denning Eid. Norene delivered newspapers in Ft. Madison. She enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals and loved animals. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include one daughter, Becky Dettmers of Ft. Madison; two grandchildren, Jessica Dettmers of Fort Madison and Bradley Dettmers, Jr. of Ft. Madison; five great grandchildren, Paige Dettmers, Kyler Dettmers, Ava Fuget, Liam Brown, Tyson Dettmers; two brothers, John Eid and Walter (Marsha) Eid of Ft. Madison two sisters, Leora (Charles) Holland and Sherri (Milton) Salladay of Ft. Madison; two sisters in law, Sheryl Eid and Patricia Eid of Ft. Madison; numerous nieces and nephews and her close friend, Julia Saunders.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Barbara (Gary) Kempker; four brothers, Fred (Retta) Eid, Ervin (Elsie) Eid, William Eid and Frank Eid and son in law, Bradley Dettmers, Sr.
The family will meet with friends from 2-4 PM on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, April 3, 2023 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory with Joe Lestina officiating. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
