Brendan P. Sanders, 51 passed away at 9:30 PM on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at The West Point Care  Center.

He was born on January 4, 1972 in Ft. Madison to John and Mary Kroning Sanders.  Brendan married Cathy Riley and they later divorced.  Brendan was a graduate of Ft. Madison and worked at Merschman Seeds for over twenty years.  He enjoyed pool, wrestling and playing softball.  He was an avid bowler and won the Iowa State Mexican Bowling Doubles Championship in 1994.  When he was younger, he participated in JUDO and won three state championships.  Brendan loved the Hawkeyes, Vikings and Cubs.  He was a talented at photographer, especially of race cars and his photos were published in several magazines.

Survivors include one brother Daniel (Kathy) Sanders of Burlington; two sisters, Shelly Wagoner of Ft. Madison and Jaime Sonnenberg of Riviera, TX; nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother, Michael Wagoner.

The memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, June 2, 2023 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Jon Heyland officiating. The family will meet with friends from 10 AM until the time of the service at 11 AM.  Those who are attending on Friday are encouraged to wear one of Brendan’s favorite teams apparel.  Per his wishes, cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory.
