Deborah Horton, 66, of Ft. Madison passed away at 6:50 PM on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at her home.

She was born on July 10, 1956 in Ft. Madison to Kenneth and Doris Carter Holtkamp. On April 15, 1975 she married Don Horton in Burlington.  She worked at the Daily Democrat and Armour Dial.  Her greatest job and love was being a wife, mother, grandma and great grandma. Deb loved birds, especially cardinals.  She enjoyed crafting, listening to older country music and watching old black and white movies. 

Survivors include her husband, Don Horton of Ft. Madison; two daughters, Sasha Horton and Tenile(Ernest) Aldridge both of Ft. Madison; two sons, Don Horton III and Joshua Horton both of Ft. Madison; ten grandchildren; Chantal Clifford, Sabrina Wilson, Damien Pope, Chance Horton, Alexis Huston, Selena Clanton, Bailee Horton, Julien Pope, Kylee Howren and Gavin Horton;  eleven great grandchildren; one brother, Steve (Marlene) Holtkamp of Irving, TX; two sisters, Denise Peacock and Deanna (Richard) Rankin both of Quitman, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Rebecca and Donna; two brothers, Scott and Stan and a great grandson, Munson.

Per her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
