WASHINGTON – The International Economic Development Council (IEDC) announced the Lee County Economic Development Group has been recognized as one of 77 economic development organizations accredited by IEDC as an Accredited Economic Development Organization (AEDO).
LCEDG President & CEO, Dennis Fraise, and Vice President of Economic Development, Emily Benjamin, were presented with the accreditation plaque at the IEDC Leadership Summit on February 5.
“Lee County Economic Development is extremely proud and humbled to have received the AEDO designation. I especially want to thank our economic development team members who worked very hard to receive this exclusive recognition for our organization.” said Bob Huffman, Chair Lee County EDG board of directors.
The AEDO program is a comprehensive peer review process that measures economic development organizations against commonly held standards in the profession. The program consists of two phases: a documentation review and an onsite visit. Each phase is designed to evaluate information about the structure, organization, funding, programs, and staff of the candidate economic development organization.
“Lee County Economic Development Group displays the professionalism, commitment, and technical expertise that is deserving of this honor,” said IEDC President and CEO Nathan Ohle.
Earning the AEDO accreditation tells the community and prospects that Lee County Economic Development Group has attained a measure of excellence assuring that their trust is well-placed and their business is in good hands.
“Receiving the AEDO certification from the International Economic Development Council is a testament to the quality of work being done by the Lee County Economic Development Group. This award is shared with our investors, board members, and partners throughout Lee County and southeast Iowa.” Fraise said.
Maintenance of the AEDO status is required every three years and is accomplished through documentation submission and/or onsite visits by a team of the AEDO subcommittee.
