KEOKUK - Keokuk High School is proud to announce the hiring of Jomarre “JoJo” McNair as the new head football coach of the Chiefs football program.
McNair has served as an assistant coach in the Keokuk football program for the past year and has quickly built strong relationships with student-athletes while demonstrating a passion for developing young men both on and off the field. His energy, leadership, and commitment to building a positive culture made him a standout candidate to lead the program moving forward.
Originally from Joliet, McNair was a standout multi-sport athlete at Joliet Central High School before continuing his athletic and academic career at Wartburg College, where he competed in both football and baseball. During his football career at Wartburg, McNair earned multiple all-conference honors and was recognized as an all-region performer while excelling as a defensive back, return specialist, and wide receiver.
In baseball at Wartburg, McNair also made a significant impact as an outfielder and leadoff hitter, earning allconference recognition and becoming known for his speed and athleticism on the field.
“We are excited to have Coach McNair leading our football program,” said Zach Summers. “JoJo has already made a tremendous impact on our student-athletes in his short time here. He brings great energy, a strong work ethic, and a genuine passion for mentoring kids. We believe he is the right person to continue building our program and creating a culture our players and community can be proud of.”
Keokuk Community School District welcomes Coach McNair into his new role and looks forward to the future of Chiefs football under his leadership.
