Posted

DONNELLSON – Jayden Mueller, a graduating senior of Central Lee High School, received a $2,000 scholarship from the Iowa Hospital Education and Research Foundation (IHERF), a nonprofit subsidiary of the Iowa Hospital Association. Jayden is among 65 Iowa high school seniors who were awarded scholarships from IHERF.
In her application, Jayden wrote, “A career in healthcare will enable me to combine my values, passion, and area of academic interest into a meaningful and influential profession.”
The Iowa Hospital Association awards $2,000 scholarships through IHERF to high school students whose academic performance indicates college success and who are interested in entering a health care field of study. Nicole Panther-Rump, Manager of Talent Management at Great River Health, presented Jayden with this scholarship at the annual Senior Award Ceremony at Central Lee on May 11, 2026.
The high school scholarship program is part of the IHERF Health Care Careers Scholarship Program. The program was established in 2005 to help address the shortage of health care professionals and encourage high school students to pursue careers with Iowa hospitals.
“We are fortunate to play a role in recognizing Jayden for her accomplishments and wish her the best of luck as she pursues her degree in nursing at the University of Iowa,” expressed Panther-Rump.
Since its inception, the program has supported nearly 1,100 Iowa students in pursuing higher education in health care fields, contributing to a growing pipeline of skilled professionals dedicated to serving patients across the state. To date, the foundation has awarded approximately $3.3 million in scholarships.
Applications for 2027 scholarships open November 1, 2026. Additional information can be found online at iherf.org.
