FORT MADISON - The Fort Madison Area Arts Association is in the final days of the exhibition of Oil and Water, work by Carol Janosik and Chris Swetye. Stop in to see this excellent body of work in the Main Gallery of the Art Center located at 825 Ave G in Fort Madison.
These two artists have produced a collection of figurative, landscape, and floral works each in their own medium of oil painting or watercolor. Their work exemplifies their own styles yet pushes into shared sensibilities.

Opening Reception for Simple Pleasures, Quiet Places | Fri November 4,  5 p.m. - 7 p.m.  Join us for an evening of celebrating the artwork of Robin Fisher in the Main Gallery at the FMAAA Art Center, located at 825 Ave G in Fort Madison.
Fisher is masterful in depicting rural Iowa - rural life, kids being kids, animals being animals. With a BA in Art Education from Iowa Wesleyan, she can't remember a time when she wasn't drawing.
She recalls, "I wrote and illustrated my first book at age seven about pigs; unfortunately it wasn't a best seller. However, the one thing I remember most was how proud I felt when Mom asked me to show my book to Aunt Helen. It's in those simplest of moments that dreams are made."
She further credits influences of Garth Williams the illustrator of Laura Ingalls Wilder's Little House books, Mary Cassatt's paintings, right along with Fisher's own mother and sister for helping her to find her own style.
The Fort Madison Area Arts Association is pleased to share her work with you for the month of November. This exhibition will be on display through November 30th, 2022. The FMAAA is grateful for the generous sponsorship of this exhibition by Carol and John Janosik.
