Mark Wayne Seigfried, 57, of Nauvoo, Illinois, passed away at 7:47 p.m. Friday, October 30, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Mark was born on October 17, 1969, in Fort Madison, Iowa, the son of Dennis M. and Laverna (Jones) Seigfried. On March 21, 2017, he married Kerry Slowick in Carthage, Illinois. She survives.
Besides his wife, survivors include two daughters: Hailey Seigfried of Nauvoo, Illinois and Hannah Seigfried of Loredo, Texas; two grandchildren: Denver Allman and Aspen Allman; step-mother: Therese Seigfried of Huxley, Iowa; two brothers: Alan (Patty) Seigfried of Niota, Illinois and Trent (Sarah) Seigfried of Huxley, Iowa; and his nieces and nephews: Brittany Pierce, Brenden Seigfried, Brody Seigfried, Joe Seigfried, Katie Seigfried, and Mathew Seigfried.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mark was a graduate of Nauvoo-Colusa High School. Following high school, he served in the United States Navy. He was recently employed at the Nauvoo Inn and Suites. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his dad and family, wood carving, crafting with clam shells from the river, mushroom and arrowhead hunting, and reading, especially Stephen King.
Military Rites will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Schmitz-Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Nauvoo. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Following visitation, a dinner for friends and family will be held at the former Nauvoo Lutheran Church, 1110 Ripley Street, Nauvoo.
A memorial has been established in his memory.
