FINDING YOUR FORT MADISON

Take advantage of the three-day weekend

Posted

Pre-rodeo week events begin this weekend, and the campers will be rolling into the rodeo grounds faster than sheep running at the Lil’ Spurs mutton bustin’ event! The smell of campfire will be in the air and the city-wide yard sales will begin! The next two weeks are the biggest sales of the year. Maybe you’ll find some western wear, kids toys, or another crockpot for your collection.
Don’t let this gorgeous fall weather go to waste. Take your boats out for a ride on the Mississippi River and explore Lake Cooper by launching from our marina. No boat? No problem. Harvestville Farm is opening for the fall season, and the play area and corn maze are ready for hours of fun. Be sure to get tickets for their 2nd annual Balloon Glow—its a one of a kind view.
Appleberry Orchard is also rolling out the fall festivities with pig racing, petting zoo, outdoor play, apple cider and yummy apple cider donuts.

Hinterland Dairy just released a new cheddar cheese that is flavored with zesty fall flavors that would be amazing to have around a campfire!  (Pro tip: buy double of everything so that you can enjoy these treats on the car ride home.)
It’s a three-day weekend, folks. Make it count, and find your Fort Madison!
