Wade takes medal honors at Keokuk Invite

Bloodhound shoots an 82 and wins in one-hole playoff

KEOKUK – Fort Madison’s Brady Wade was a medalist at the Keokuk Invitational Thursday at the Elks Golf Club in Keokuk.
Brady shot an 82 and won in a playoff over Keokuk’s Chase Eckland who also shot an 82.
Central Lee won the event with a 330 total score, figuring in the top four scorers for each team. Caleb Larson and Mylan Lowenberg each carded an 84 for the Hawks. Fort Madison was second with 354. Keokuk followed in 3rd with 365, Burlington Notre Dame shot a 366, Clark County shot a 377, and Holy Trinity finished with a 510.
The Hawks' Carson Morrison and Carter Jones won the better ball event which pits the Nos. 3 and 4 players for each team, with an 85. Keokuk’s Aydan O’Connor and Brayden Picton were runners-up with a combined 87.
Central Lee’s Bo Herdrich and Cale Clark shot a 77 in the 5th and 6th position scramble. Holy Trinity Catholic’s Luke Hellige and Max Kruse carded an 86 as runners up. Brady Marting and Kaiden Dietzenbach also shot an 86 for Notre Dame.
Fort Madison’s Cade Denning shot an 87 in the No. 2 spot for the Bloodhounds. Andy Mehmert shot a 109 to lead Holy Trinity and Jameson Denning shot a 117 in the season-opener. Cole Quittem and Lucas Helling shot a 90 in the better ball with 3s and 4s. Nolan Lamb and Rowan Benda shot a 93 in the scramble.
