Bloodhounds 11th at 22-team FM Invite

FORT MADISON - Logan Pennock and Aaron Warner both captured 4th-place finishes at this weekend's Fort Madison Invitational to lead the Hounds to an 11th-place finish.
The two-day tournament featured 22 teams and was won by Burlington Notre Dame with 404 points. Fort Madison finished with 211.
Pennock was breezing through the 132 lb. bracket before running into a nemesis in Washington’s Aaron Boone. Boone recorded a 15-0 technical fall over Pennock moving the Bloodhound senior into the 3^rd-place match with Dubuque Hempstead’s Mitchell Murphy. Pennock took a medical forfeit in the match for 4^th place.
Aaron Warner ran up against a much larger Anthony Keys from Cedar Rapids Kennedy in the 3^rd-place match where he suffered a fall in the second period. Warner went 4-3 on the day with four pins along the way.
Rainer Johnson finished sixth at 150 lbs. and went 1-3 on the day. Gavin Callahan, wrestling at 175 lbs., also brought home a 6^th-place finish and 25 points. Callahan went 4-3 on the day in non-bye matches.
Other top-ten finishes for the Hounds included Noah Swigart (7^th – 144 lbs.); Nicholas Carles (9^th – 165 lbs.); Ren Watson (9^th – 190 lbs.); and Cliff Stewart (8^th – 215 lbs.)
The junior varsity team finished 21^st with 72.5 points.
