Central Lee, HTC start post-season play at home

Lady Hounds open play at Keokuk in two weeks

FORT MADISON - Central Lee and Holy Trinity will get early home games in their respective regional softball tournaments.
The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union released pairings for all five classes on Friday.
Central Lee could get two home games in their Class 3A regional. Holy Trinity received a bye in their 1A regional.
Fort Madison will open on the road in Class 4A.
A look at the brackets for the Crusaders, Hawks and Bloodhounds:
CLASS 1A
Holy Trinity, in Region 1, will be in a bracket that includes top-ranked Wayne and No. 14 Seymour.
The Crusaders get a bye into the quarterfinals, where they will play either Wapello or WACO on July 9 at South Park at West Point.
The side of Holy Trinity’s bracket has a first-round game between Mormon Trail and Pekin, with the winner playing at Seymour. The winner of that game will face the winner of Holy Trinity’s quarterfinal in a 5 p.m. semifinal at Seymour on July 11.
First-round games on the other side of the bracket have first-round games of Twin Cedars at Moravia and Moulton-Udell at Keota. The Twin Cedars/Moravia winner will play at Wayne in the quarterfinals, while the Moulton-Udell/Keota winner will play at Sigourney. The quarterfinal winners from that side will play a semifinal at Wayne on July 11.

CLASS 3A
Central Lee’s regional includes fifth-ranked Davenport Assumption and No. 8 Washington.
The Hawks open with a quarterfinal against Monticello on July 10 at Central Lee. The winner of that game will play the Washington-Midland quarterfinal winner in a July 12 semifinal at Central Lee.
The other side of the Region 5 bracket has Assumption playing host to Camanche and West Burlington-Notre Dame playing at Mediapolis in the quarterfinals. The winners of those games will play in a July 12 semifinal at Assumption.
The regional final is July 14 at the site of the highest-ranked remaining team.
CLASS 4A
Fort Madison will open Region 3 play in a July 10 quarterfinal at Keokuk. The winner of that game will play at No. 3 Norwalk in the semifinals on July 12.
The other side of the bracket has Mount Pleasant playing at Oskaloosa in the quarterfinals, with the winner playing at 11th-ranked Winterset in the semifinals on July 12.
The regional final is July 15 at the site of the highest-ranked remaining team.
