Donnellson’s Son part of winning LCAA team
MIDDLETOWN - The team of David Son (Donnellson) and Rob FT Needham (Kirksville, MO) pitched spinner baits and wacky rigged worms to finish First Place in the LCAA’s OPEN Bass Tournament #1 at Lake Geode in Des Moines County. A sunny day with 10mph NW winds found the fish with a bit of lockjaw as numbers and weights were conservative, to say the least. However, their game plan paid off with a limit of five bass scaling 13.5 lbs. and also the Big Fish Award with a 3.66 lb. largemouth bass.
Jeff Eaves (Ft. Madison) and Darren Skow (Argyle) teamed up to pound the water for the eight-hour tournament and finished Second Place, bagging a limit of five fish weighing 12.82 lbs. The Third Place finish belonged to the team of Tim Miller and Darren Skow as they tipped the scales at 10.74 lbs.
A total of 30 anglers participated in the first tournament of three, sponsored by the Lake Cooper Angler Association. These three Open Tournaments are open to the public scheduled for this summer. Aside from a very generous payback system, anglers will earn accumulated points for standings. At the end of the last tournament, the team with the most accumulated points will be presented the “LCAA Open Champions” trophy.
