Layne Rung scores 33 to lead Tuesday night basketball action

FORT MADISON – Layne Rung had his best game of his senior year pouring in 33 points as the Holy Trinity Catholic boys rolled Danville 74-30 in SEI Super Conference boys basketball action Tuesday in Danville.
The Crusaders had three players in double figures as they made a quick night of the Bears at Shottenkirk Gym in Fort Madison.
Jack Ragar had 15, 13 in the first half and Corbin Van Niewaal added 10 for HTC who moves over .500 at 6-5 overall with the win. They stand at 4-5 in SEISC play and travel to West Burlington Friday night before hosting Fort Madison in the annual cross-town game Saturday afternoon.
Keokuk dismantles Hound boys
KEOKUK – Jaxon Clark scored 27 to lead Keokuk to an 80-37 win over Fort Madison in Southeast Conference boys basketball Tuesday in Keokuk.
Nolan Guzman scored 11 and Darius Foy had nine for the Bloodhounds (0-10, 0-5 SEC).
Keokuk had four players in double figured led by Clark. Jalen Clark finished with 16, Chayce Smith had 14, and Lincoln Wray added 10.
The Chiefs stay unbeaten in SEC play at 5-0 and move to 8-2 overall. They host Washington on Friday and then play at West Burlington Saturday afternoon. They lost to Palmyra 67-60 on Tuesday. Jaxson Clark had 20 in the loss.
Fort Madison looks for their first win Friday at Fairfield and then plays at Shottenkirk Gym on Saturday afternoon against HTC.
