Fort Madison Police Report
12/28/23 – 10:11 a.m. – Fort Madison police responded to a report of vandalism in the 600-700 block of Avenue H.
12/28/23 – 12:02 p.m. – Fort Madison police arrested Jacob William Klesner, 38, of Fort Madison, in the 1800 block of Avenue L, on a warrant for voluntary absence from custody. He was taken to Lee County Jail.
12/28/23 – 4:53 p.m. – Fort Madison police responded to a report of a hit & run in the 600 block of 8th Street.
12/28/23 – 5:14 p.m. – Fort Madison police responded to a report of a property damage accident in the 2100 block of Avenue G.
12/28/23 – 5:15 p.m. – Fort Madison police responded to a report of a hit & run in the 2100 block of Avenue G.
12/28/23 – 6:08 p.m. – Fort Madison police responded to a report of a property damage accident in the 700 block of 9th Street.

Keokuk Police Report
12/28/23 – 12:30 p.m. – Keokuk police responded to a two-vehicle accident in the 1600 block of Main Street. According to the report, a vehicle driven by Beverly A. Abernathy, 61, of Macomb, was traveling north in the 100 block of 16th Street and entered the intersection without stopping at the stop sign and struck a vehicle driven by Jonathan R. Sandidge, 21, of Basco. No injuries were reported. Abernathy was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and yield right of way. Her vehicle suffered moderate damages and was driven from the scene. Sandidge's vehicle suffered disabling damages and was towed from the scene.

12/28/23 – Lee County sheriff deputies had no activity to report.
