Fort Madison Police Report
07/07/22 – 10:06 a.m. – Fort Madison police responded to a report of a personal injury accident in the 900 block of Avenue H.
07/07/22 – 10:20 a.m. – Fort Madison police arrested Stephanie Ann Echols, 39, of Fort Madison, in the 2800 block of Avenue N, on a charge of domestic abuse assault. She was taken to Lee County Jail.
07/07/22 – 11:57 a.m. – Fort Madison police arrested Dyvon Michael Smith, 25, of Montrose, in the 4600 block of Avenue J, on a charge of 5th degree criminal mischief. He was taken to Lee County Jail.
07/07/22 – 3:55 p.m. – Fort Madison police cited Monice Bluesky Kemp, 47, of Fort Madison, in the 200 block of Avenue E, on a charge of driving under suspension.
07/07/22 – 10:00 p.m. – Fort Madison police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the 400 block of 23rd Street.
07/08/22 – 1:45 a.m. – Fort Madison police arrested Justin Robert Bowden, 40, of Fort Madison, in the 2400 block of Avenue L, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear. He was taken to Lee County Jail.
Lee County Sheriff Report
07/07/22 – 7:57 p.m. – Lee County sheriff deputies responded to a 2-vehicle accident in the 2600 block of Hwy. 103. According to the report, a vehicle driven by Clay Cooper Anerson, 49, of Indiana, was traveling eastbound on Hwy. 103 when a vehicle driven by Theresa Ann Potter, 54, of Fort Madison, crossed the center line into his lane of travel. Anerson swerved to avoid a head-on collision, but his vehicle was struck by Potter's vehicle, causing approximately $1,500 in damage. Potter's vehicle also sustained approximately $1,500 in damage. No injuries were reported and both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene. Potter was cited for not having proof of insurance.
07/08/22 – 10:12 p.m. – Lee County sheriff deputies arrested Joseph Eugene Root, 50, of Keokuk, at the South Lee County Courthouse, on a warrant for failure to appear/contempt of court. He was taken to Lee County Jail.
Those listed above are charged with a suspicion of a crime and are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
