Fort Madison Police Report
08/31/23 – 10:09 a.m. – Fort Madison police responded to a report of larceny/theft in the 5400 block of Avenue O.
08/31/23 – 3:34 p.m. – Fort Madison police responded to a report of vandalism in the 2600 block of Avenue H.
08/31/23 – 8:25 p.m. – Fort Madison police arrested Brian Wayne Nuebel, 53, of Niota, at 7th Street and Avenue H, on warrants for driving under suspension and failure to provide proof of insurance. He was taken to Lee County Jail.

Lee County Sheriff Report
08/31/23 – 9:36 a.m. – Lee County sheriff deputies arrested Christina Marie Gray, 37, of Keokuk, in the 2400 block of Mickinley, Keokuk, on a temporary hold. She was taken to Lee County Jail.
08/31/23 – 2:58 p.m. – Lee County sheriff deputies arrested Mary Elizabeth Johnson, 60, of Fort Madison, at the North Lee County Courthouse, on warrants for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance – 1,2,3rd. She was taken to Lee County Jail.
09/01/23 – 5:25 a.m. – Lee County sheriff deputies responded to a single-vehicle accident on 255th Street. According to the report, a vehicle driven by Anthony Stephen Stapleton, 37, of Kansas, was turning onto 255th Street from Hwy. 61 traveling westbound when an animal caused him to swerve and run into the raised curb in the intersection. No injuries were reported. Stapleton was cited for failure to maintain control. Stapleton's vehicle sustained disabling damages and was towed from the scene.
