Fort Madison Police Report
03/10/24 – 3:31 a.m. – Fort Madison police arrested Ashley Nicole Shannon, 32, of Fort Madison, in the 3000 block of Avenue L, on a charge of 1st offense domestic abuse assault. She was taken to Lee County Jail.
03/08/24 – 1:04 p.m. – Fort Madison police responded to a report of larceny/theft in the 1700 block of Avenue H.
03/09/24 – 12:27 p.m. – Fort Madison police responded to a report of a property damage accident in the 1200 block of Avenue H.
03/10/24 – 11:20 a.m. – Fort Madison police responded to a report of a hit & run in the 1400 block of Avenue D.

Keokuk Police Report
03/08/24 – 9:22 a.m. – Keokuk police arrested a 14-year-old male juvenile, no hometown reported, at South 25th and Main Streets, on a charge of eluding – injury, OWI, drug. He was released to a guardian.
03/08/24 – 1:30 p.m. – Keokuk police cited and released Gabriel Marley McAllister, 21, of Keokuk, at North 1st and Main Streets, on a charge of driving under suspension.
03/08/24 – 10:51 p.m. – Keokuk police responded to a two-vehicle accident at 1st and Main Streets. According to the report, a vehicle driven by Gabriel Marley McAllister, 21, of Keokuk, was attempting to make a right turn onto North 1st Street when it was struck by a vehicle driven by Denise Vayda Nichols, 16, of Warsaw, that was attempting to make left turn onto Main Street, turned too sharply, and struck McAllister's car. No injuries were reported. Nichols was cited for turning from improper lane and failure to provide security against liability; McAllister was cited for driving while license suspended. Both vehicles sustained minor damages and were driven from the scene.
03/09/24 – 7:24 p.m. – Keokuk police arrested Melinda Jo Saunders, 49, of Keokuk, in the 300 block of North 11th Street, on a charge of 1st offense domestic assault – bodily injury. She was taken to Lee County Jail.
03/09/24 – 10:09 p.m. – Keokuk police cited and released Brenda Lee Kitavarada, 28, of Keokuk, in the 200 block of South 10th Street, on a charge of driving under suspension.
03/09/24 – 10:16 p.m. – Keokuk police cited and released Jaime Lynn Hall, 39, of Keokuk, in the 400 block of Main Street, on a charge of driving under suspension.
03/10/24 – 6:00 a.m. – Keokuk police cited and released Larry Lee Benge, 49, of Keokuk, in the 100 block of North 10th Street, on a charge of driving under suspension.
03/11/24 – 1:13 a.m. – Keokuk police arrested Douglas Edward Steele, 59, of Keokuk, at North 7th and Concert Streets, on 2 warrants for violation of probation, and charges of drug tax stamp violations and possession of a controlled substance – 1,2,3rd. He was taken to Lee County Jail.

Lee County Sheriff Report
03/08/24 – 6:13 p.m. – Lee County sheriff deputies arrested Craig Stephen Brown, 60, of Plano, IA, at the North Lee County Courthouse, on a warrant for failure to appear. He was taken to Lee County Jail and later released on his own recognizance.
03/09/24 – Lee County sheriff deputies had no activity to report.
03/10/24 – 6:37 p.m. – Lee County sheriff deputies arrested Eric Troy Beckman, 48, of Fort Madison, at the North Lee County Courthouse, on a warrant for failure to appear. He was taken to Lee County Jail.
03/11/24 – 12:55 a.m. – Lee County sheriff deputies arrested Douglas Edward Steele, 59, of Keokuk, at the South Lee County Courthouse, on a warrant for violation of probation. He was taken to Lee County Jail.
03/11/24 – 3:05 a.m. – Lee County sheriff deputies arrested Ryan Thomas Lilly, 24, of Keokuk, at the South Lee County Courthouse, on a warrant for failure to appear. He was taken to Lee County Jail.
