Guzman 12th, Brooks 19th at Drake Relays

Bair second in 100-meter finals at relays in Des Moines

FORT MADISON – At this weekend’s Drake Relays, Fort Madison’s Nolan Guzman jumped 6’2” to capture 12th place for the Bloodhounds. The only other competitor for Fort Madison over the weekend was Urijah Brooks, who placed 19th in the shot put.
Keokuk’s Ryan Bair finished runner-up in the 100-meter dash with a 10.55 just .02 off the title pace of 10.53 set by Treynor’s Cauy Konz. West Burlington’s Landry Halbrechter was fourth in the finals at 10.72.

Keokuk girls go 1-1 at Centerville
CENTERVILLE – The Keokuk Lady Chiefs downed Centerville 1-0 with Bella Boltz scoring in the second half on a ball from Makenna Thomas. Relina Wong had seven saves in the opener. Keokuk fell in the second game 0-3 to Grinnell with Wong corralling another seven saves. The Chiefs are 3-6 on the year and host Mt. Pleasant Monday night before traveling to Fort Madison on Thursday.

Hounds go 0-1-1 at Pella
PELLA – Connor Horn and Jack Ragar had the lone goals for the Fort Madison Bloodhound boys' soccer team over the weekend where the Hounds recorded a 1-1 tie with Pella and fell 1-5 to ADM.
Horn scored unassisted in the first half of the Pella Match and Keelynd Ross had eight saves.
Ragar scored in the second half unassisted in the loss to ADM. Ross had 10 saves in that match in 67 minutes. The Hounds worked in William Scanlan for 12 minutes and he recorded two saves.
The Hounds are 5-4-2 overall and 3-2 in the Southeast Conference. They host Washington Monday at Baxter.

Hawks shut out Wapello
DONNELLSON – Zach Estrada and Mason Sanders each scored a hat trick with three goals as the Hawks shut out the struggling Indians 10-0 on Friday at Central Lee.
Lucas Crank, Dominic Holbert, and Colton Taft had the other goals. Wapello slid in an 'own goal'  in the Hawks' 6-0 first-half lead. 
Peter Seyb had two assists, as did Taft. Nathan Newberry and Korbin Wilson also had assists. Tristan Robbins had one save. Johnny Seyb also got time in the net for Central Lee.
Sanders' three goals all came in the first half. Estrada got two of his goals in the second half within a minute of each other.

Spicer medals at Fairfield
FAIRFIELD – Keokuk’s Colton Spicer carded a 71 as Keokuk shot a combined 315 to edge Van Buren by one stroke at the Fairfield Invitational this weekend.
Fort Madison finished fifth with 332. The Hounds were led by Daniel Seager’s 81. Colton Boyer shot an 83. Cole Quittem and Rowan Benda both came in at 84 to round out the scoring golfers for the Bloodhounds.
Ashton Snodgrass carded a 76 for the Chiefs, while Carter Land and Luke Ames both came in with 84s to round out the Chiefs’ scoring golfers.
