BLOOMFIELD – The Central Lee boys' and girls' cross country team won the 3-team Davis Invitational on Thursday.
Caden Crozier and Aubree Bunnell led the Hawks to the wins.
Crozier finished third with a 19:25.77. He was followed in order by Austin Fogarty, Orion St. Clair, and Caedon Newton in third through fourth pack running. Fogarty finished in 19:27.04, St. Clair at 19:29.04, and Newton at 19:36.64. The other scoring runner for the Hawks was Henry Robbins at 21:21.27, for 27 points.
Other runners in the boys' event included Jaedin Oglesby (23:29.89), Kyler Mulligan 24:15.37, Riley Salter-Rickman 27:07.46, and Ayden Gerveler 29:49.87.
In the girls' event, Bunneel finished runner-up overall and No. 1 in team scoring. Macy Anderson finished 6th overall and third in team scoring to help Central Lee to the title with 26 points. Afton Mayes was 9th overall and 4th in team scoring followed by Evelyn Adkins (13th, 8th), Charlee Clay (16th, 10th), Gabby Maynes, and Rachel Buch.
Lady Hawks sweep New London
DONNELLSON – The Lady Hawks swept New London Thursday night at Central Lee High School.
Central Lee won 25-5, 25-15, 25-9, behind the 25 of 26 serving of Brylee Cook who ripped off nine aces in the win. Taylor Jones and Nora Lampe combined for 11 kills and four digs.
Kenna Sandoval had 17 assists. Chloee Haigh had five kills and a couple blocks to continue her solid play this year.
The girls (6-5, 1-1) travel to Burington Notre Dame (15-4, 2-0) on Tuesday.
