DANVILLE – The Central Lee Hawks rebounded from a tough loss at home Thursday with a 14-2 win over Danville Friday night.
Ward Fraise led the Hawks going 4-5 with 3 RBI and three runs scored. Gage Van Ausdall went 3-5 with a home run and 3 RBI.
The Hawks trailed 2-1 at the end of one and then scattered eight runs over the next three innings including a six-run fifth inning where Fraise drove in two and Blake Davis doubled in two more.
Central Lee would add five more runs in the 7th. Hunter Edlin picked up the win going four innings and surrendering both Danville runs, one earned while striking out six and walking one. Brayden Wyrick came on in relief with good command and pitched three scoreless innings on just 34 pitches. Striking out six and not allowing a hit or a walk.
The Hawks are off until Monday when they travel to Anamosa.
Lady Hounds drop two to Dav. North
DAVENPORT – The Fort Madison High School softball team dropped two on the road at Davenport North Friday.
Fort Madison gave up three runs in the first inning in the opener. Emma Snaadt went the distance in the circle giving up two more runs in the fourth and sixth. Her line was six innings, seven runs, five earned on seven hits while striking out two and walking four.
The Bloodhounds scored a run in the fourth and two in the fifth highlighted by Ava Fuget’s RBI triple scoring Snaadt. Fuget would score on a passed ball, but that would be all the scoring offense for the Hounds. Fuget had two of the Hounds four hits. Brylie Lorence had a hit as did Lucia Darnell.
In the second game, the Wildcats shut out Fort Madison 5-0. Darnell took the loss for Fort Madison going all six innings giving up all five runs on 10 hits. She fanned six and walked just one. Fuget had the only hit for Fort Madison with a single to open the top of the fourth.
The Bloodhounds host Keokuk Monday night in a double header starting at 5:30 p.m.

FM boys drop two to North
FORT MADISON – The Fort Madison Bloodhounds dropped two games Friday night and stand at 0-6 on the season.
Fort Madison lost the first game 8-4 scoring all four runs in the bottom of the 4th. Nolan Lamb and Stefan Berlett had back-to-back, one-out singles to start the inning for Fort Madison. Tateum Schelich singled to center scoring pinch runners Eric Cornelis and Jay Ellison with Ellison coming in on an error at center. Schelich would move all the way to third on the play. He would score on Aiden Mitchell’s single. Mitchell would score on Corbin Van Niewaal’s double to center before North retired the side with the Hounds down by a run at 5-4.
North would put up three runs in the top of the sixth off reliever Michael Fuller. Reece Huey took the loss giving up three runs and surrendering four runs on four hits, while walking three and fanning one. Muller’s line was four innings, three Ks and walk. He allowed four runs on five hits.
In the nightcap, North ran away with a 13-2 win in five innings. Schelich went 2-for-2 at the plate with an RBI. Oliver Schelich had a hit off the bench and Owen Huffman had the other hit for Fort Madison.
Tateum Schelich suffered the loss going two innings and allowing six hits, four runs and a couple walks. Huffman went 2 2/3 allowing five runs on five hits while fanning two and walking one. Case Fraise pitched 1/3 of inning and gave up four runs on three hits.
The Bloodhounds host Keokuk Monday night in a double header at FM Jr./Sr. High School starting at 5:30 p.m
Crusaders can’t hold lead at home
WEST POINT – The Holy Trinity Catholic softball team held a 5-1 lead after two innings at home Friday night over Mediapolis.
But the Bulldogs rallied in the third and fourth with seven runs of their own enroute to a 9-6 win over the Crusaders.
Alivia Holmes, Ellie Hellman and Sydney Jarvis each had two hits and doubled in the loss. Holmes had two RBI and a run scored. Kenna Gittings and Jarvis also had RBIs.
Jarvis took the loss in the circle going all seven innings giving up 10 hits, nine runs and striking out 11.
The Crusaders travel to Lone Tree on Monday.
