Dorothy M. Holtkamp, 98, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 at 5:15 AM at Birkwood Assisted Living.
She was born on October 6, 1928 to Lawrence and Angelena Rickelman Helling. On October 23, 1948 she married Wayne J. Holtkamp and he passed away on November 5, 2009. Dorothy was a 1946 graduate of Catholic Central High School. She worked at Northwestern Bell and then IAAP as an inspector. Dorothy was a member of Holy Family Parish, the Altar and Rosary Society and CLA. Dorothy and Wayne enjoyed square dancing, camping and playing cards, especially euchre. Most of all, she loved the time she spent with her family.
Survivors include three sons, Larry (Rita) Holtkamp of Ft. Madison, Dave (Sandy) Holtkamp of Ft. Madison and Tom (Kathy) Holtkamp of Mt. Pleasant; three daughters, Jane (Stan) Haessig of West Point, Carol (Dave) Pierce of Morning Sun and Gail (Gary Gleichman) Gray of Ft. Madison; son in law, Ed Flick of Nottingham, PA; eighteen grandchildren; thirty eight great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; her sister, Mary (Albert) Menke of St. Paul; brother in law, Leo Holtkamp of Ft. Worth, TX; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Wayne; daughter, Becky Flick; grandson, Joshua; two brothers, Albert and Leo; several brother and sister in laws.
A rosary will be recited at 3:30 PM on Thursday, October 22, 2026 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory followed by the visitation from 4-5:30 PM. The funeral mass will be at 10:30 AM on Friday, October 23, 2026 at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Gary Beckman officiating. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
