Diane Kathleen Mattix, 80, of Denmark, IA, passed away at 3:35 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at her home.  She was born on May 14, 1944 in Minnesota to Hjlmar & Freida Siltanen.  She married Donald Schmitz in 1987 and he preceded her in death in 2001.  She married George C. “Joe” Mattix on January 15, 2005 at the First Christian Church in Fort Madison, IA.  She started her career at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant and retired from the Sheaffer Pen Company.  She was a member of the First Christian Church and enjoyed sewing, crafts, painting, golf, bowling and flower gardening. 
Diane is survived by: her husband: Joe Mattix of Denmark, IA; 2-daughters: Jodi (Rick) Beach of Florida & Becky (Tim) Hunter of Fort Madison, IA; 2-step sons: Josh (Lindsey) Mattix of Carman, IL & Todd (Tracy) Mattix of Indianola, IA; a special friend: Jennifer Schier of Denmark, IA; 10-grandchildren; 5-great grandchildren; 2-great great grandchildren and 1-sister.  She was preceded in death by her parents and 1-son, Pat Holland.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory.  A memorial service will be held at a later date at First Christian Church in Fort Madison.  Burial will be at Denmark Cemetery at a later date.  Online condolences to the Mattix family may be left at the King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory website: www.kinglynk.com.
