King-Lynk Funeral Home obituary - Helen Ramirez, 92, Fort Madison

Our Mom, Helen “Chele” Ramirez, 92 of Ft. Madison, closed her eyes for the last time before opening her eyes in heaven at 10:58 PM on Monday, October 7, 2024 at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center Hospice House.
She was born on July 10, 1932 in Ft. Madison to Pedro and Guadalupe Juarez Martinez.  On June 21, 1958 she married Benito Ramirez and he passed away on August 9, 1993.  She worked at Scheaffer Pen Company and retired after forty years of service.  Chele was a member of Sacred Heart Church.  Chele was an avid member of the democratic party and loved her Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.  She was a devout Chicago Cubs fan until the big trade of 2021!  Chele loved being outdoors, gardening and cooking.  Chele loved having family and friends over for the Mexican Fiesta and entertaining with her delicious cooking.  Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include one son, Michael Ramirez; two daughters, Cathy Ramirez and Rachela “”Chela” Ramirez Savala all of Ft. Madison; eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and ten siblings.
A rosary will be recited at 3:30 PM on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory followed by the visitation from 4-6 PM at the funeral home.  The funeral mass will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024 at Sacred Heart Church at 10:30 AM with Rev. Gary Beckman officiating.  Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
