Kathleen A. Gaffney, 72, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 11:16 p.m. on Friday, November 1, 2024 at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, following a stroke at her home on October 15th. She was born on June 5, 1952 in Fort Madison, IA to Oscar Clark “OC” & Thelma Marie Boswell Morgan. She married Harold “Bud” Wayne Gaffney, Jr. and they later divorced. She graduated from Aquinas High School and later from Southeastern Community College with her nursing license. She was a nurse at Fort Madison Community Hospital for 34 years. She enjoyed reading, gardening, feeding wildlife in her backyard and making milkshakes for her grandchildren.
Kathy is survived by: 3-sons: Kevin Gaffney of Davenport, IA, Brian Gaffney of Fort Madison, IA & Mark Gaffney of Los Angeles, CA; 3-grandchildren: Oliver, Declan & Landon and 1-brother: Pat (Cyndi) Morgan of Issaquah, WA. She was preceded in death by: her parents, 1-sister: Mary Kay Moline & 1-brother: Gerry Morgan.
