Margaret “Margie” L. Strunk, 74, of Ft. Madison, IA, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at 5:18 AM at her home.
She was born on January 17, 1950 in Helena, Arkansas  to  Myrtle “Francis” Degarie Jones. On June 6, 1981 she married Marvin Strunk in Ft. Madison and he passed away on February 13, 2009.  Margie worked at Chicago Rawhide and after moving to Ft. Madison she worked at Sheaffer Pen, the West Point Meat Locker and Dollar General for many years.  She and Marvin also owned and operated Strunk’s Buffalo Farm where they raised several different animals.  Margie loved being outdoors and tending to her garden and flowers.  She also enjoyed crafting, especially gourds and ostrich eggs.  Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include one daughter, Coette (Fred) Gida of Ft. Madison; four grandchildren, Matthew and his wife, Lela, Zachary and his wife, Amanda, LaDeana and Brogan; several great grandchildren including Alexis, Eli and Noah; several nieces and nephews.   She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Phillip; brother-in-law, Lester Strunk and a nephew, Brian Strunk.
Per her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Online condolences may be left at www.kinglynk.com.
